Tuesday’s outfit was interesting. I have been on the fence about these (super stretchy, pretty low-rise) cords, but I like the way they look here and they were really comfortable. I could stand for them to be 1-2″ shorter in the inseam, but will wear them a bit more to decide if they should be kept and hemmed or donated/sold. The gray is a nice alternative to jeans.

The turtleneck is Eileen Fisher and I love it. I think my only hesitation is that it’s navy. I really like navy, but navy tops confound me outside of summer. I feel like I need lighter bottoms to go with them but seldom like the fit of lighter bottoms on my curvier half.

The shoes were a Christmas gift when I was pregnant with L. The quality gives some pause but they are pretty comfortable and very broken in. I think I’d go a different direction versus repurchase, but I think I will keep driving mocs in my wardrobe going forward. They are great for casual days and dress up ::just enough:: sometimes to be unexpected and fun.

Today’s outfit falls into “meh” territory. I was excited to find a berry blazer again, and got a compliment at work wearing it, but the color doesn’t feel like “me”. I should pair it with navy again. That’s when I fell in love with the color last time. I might also try wearing it open, or launder it. It’s significantly oversized on me, just when I’d accepted I’m often a medium at Target.  On the fence about this piece.

I’m wearing it over an ancient (2011?) gray Old Navy v-neck and Target pants (but not the new ones; ones I bought right after I had L and needed to size up, sigh). I like these pant well enough and that’s why I was willing to buy another pair from Target in a pinch this past week. These are thicker, a touch longer, and a bit softer/more relaxed in fit.

In upcoming-post news, my latest Fix just landed at my doorstep. I’m most intrigued by the boots and shirt, but not sure either are “basic” enough to win a spot in my tired and desperate wardrobe right now. I’m not excited about the jeans off hand, or the higher-than-normal prices, but I’ll try on and review next post.

Until then…
